County Councillor Lorraine Lindsay-Gale has confirmed that the A4074 approach from the Dorchester junction to Shillingford will have a new 40mph limit.   Following the County Council Speed Limits Review, a number of changes to restrictions will take place around the local area.

The County Council had intended to bring the 30mph limit on the A4074 closer to the village entry signs which would have exposed the outlying houses to an increased speed limit (from 30mph to 40mph).  After objections from the Parish Council and Lorraine Lindsay-Gale, this limit will remain unchanged.   Hopefully this new 40mph zone from the Dorchester turn to Shillingford will reduce the speed of vehicles entering the village and make it easier for residents and Thames Path walkers to cross the busy A4074 road.
